The Great British Burger

Made from all ingredients I associate with Britain.

What you need to make one burger:
Oven bottom muffin (or regular muffin if you prefer)
A slice of pork pie with egg in the middle
Minced beef (size depends how big you want the patty)
Marmite
Strong mature cheddar cheese
Sliced beetroot
Pork scratchings
Piccalilli
Salt
Butter

Create:
If the muffin isn't pre-sliced then cut it, butter it and shove it under the grill until its crispy and golden.

Whack the pork scratchings until they are crumbles, small enough to sprinkle.

Blitz the piccalilli in a blender to make a smooth sauce.

To make the patty, mix a tablespoon of boiling water to a teaspoon of Marmite and mix, in a large bowl add the minced beef, a pinch of salt and the Marmite mixture you have just made. Now comes the messy part but just get your hands in and mix all up all the ingredients. When you have finished mixing make in to a ball then flatten but don't compress it to tightly.

Cook your patty however you like, grill/fry/BBQ until it's cooked to how you like it, just before you have finished cooking it place slices of the strong cheddar cheese over the patty so it melts.

The construction:
Working from the bottom up place the bottom of the muffin on your plate, then your slice of pork pie, now your Marmite infused patty with melted cheese on top, add the sliced beetroot, sprinkle on some pork scratchings crumbles, spread a lavish amount of the piccalilli sauce to the top bun and your done.

Now chomp that thing and wash it down with lashings of ginger beer.
